MoistureShield decking requires far less maintenance than wood decking, but like any other thing dust and dirt build up over time. So to maintain your deck some form of periodic cleaning is required to keep the deck looking brand new for decades. MoistureShield composite decking simply requires a simple soap and water cleaning.

A pressure washer with no greater than 3,000 psi that has a fan attachment/adjustment and soap dispenser may be used to remove dirt, concrete dust, or other types of construction dirt. Spray deck with soap, and then follow by gently scrubbing each deck board with a soft bristle brush. Spray/rinse each individual deck board using a fan tip no closer than 200mm from the decking surface. RINSE THOROUGHLY. If dirty water from cleaning is left to dry, this will cause a film to remain on the decking surface. Use of a pressure washer greater than 3,000 psi could damage the boards and void the warranty.

You should never Sand a MoistureShield composite Deck as this will void the warranty with respect to any conditions caused by sanding.

MoistureShield high-performance decking can be power washed. Use only a fan tip and up to a 3100 psi power washer to remove dirt and debris. The fan tip should be no closer than 200mm away during use.

No, CoolDeck® Technology Helps create more comfortable outdoor living environments by reducing heat by up to 35%.**

Yes, MoistureShield composite decks can be ripped or planned to reduce the width of the board. However, a Composite board should never be ripped or planned to reduce thickness.
